Spectra Studios works at the intersection of XR and urbanism.  Spectra has built a concept city in VR, used 3d scans to develop a plan for an agritourism project, and is now planning a ~3000 person car-light oceanfront village on 400 acres near San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Spectra also incubated MeshMap, which recently won the gaming category in Solana blockchain hackathon and enrolled in the Solana Colosseum Accelerator. MeshMap is building an open and permissionless 3D map of the world for use in XR gaming, immersive storytelling, local discovery, and urban planning.

What to Expect: Ryan will provide a quick overview of Spectra's work, with a deeper focus on the oceanfront village and MeshMap which are actively in development.

There will be Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, and Magic Leap 2 headsets available for hands-on demonstration of spatial computing after the presentation.

Host: Ryan Rzepecki - has a Master's in Urban Planning and previously worked for the NYC Department of Transportation in the bike and pedestrian projects group. He founded JUMP bikes in 2010 and deployed tens of thousands of bikes in cities all over the world before being acquired by Uber in 2018.
