Circling is a practice of authentic relating, focusing on shared experience and deep connection through group dialogue. It emphasizes present moment awareness, emotional honesty, and mutual understanding, often revealing the underlying dynamics within interpersonal relationships
Description from Laurence:
you don't need to know anything, just bring your present self and reflect to us what's alive in you
circling may sound like a conversation at times, but it’s fundamentally an embodiment and meditation practice, where the object of your attention is your experience in connection with others. you can be silent / embody feelings or impulses nonverbally / name things (thoughts, emotions, sensations and other aspects of your experience…) / find a flow through all of that
we’ll have some warmup exercises, but the main practice happens in lightly held unstructured spaces, inviting you to step into your self-leadership / self-authorship / self-ownership
it could be therapeutic, but it’s officially not therapy and also it can be somewhat disorienting
