Meditation Artifacts invites you to an evening of grounding, sacred listening, and a time to be still.
In a world that keeps asking us to move faster, contemplation invites us to slow down — to listen, to soften, to be with ourselves and with God.
This evening is an introduction to Christian contemplative practices, rooted in the ancient ways of grounding in the body, listening through scripture, and resting in silence.
Together we’ll explore three movements that open us to Presence:
1. Grounding in the Body: We’ll begin with a guided meditation to arrive fully where we are. Through breath and awareness, we reconnect with the wisdom of the body, the sacred ground where Spirit meets flesh.
2. Lectio Divina: Then we’ll turn to a short sacred text, read slowly and prayerfully, not for study but for encounter. This ancient practice helps us listen with the heart, to notice what shimmers, what calls, and what wants to be seen within us.
3. Centering Prayer — Finally, we’ll enter into silence. This is a time of resting in God beyond words and thoughts — a quiet surrender into a loving presence that holds all things together.
You don’t need any prior experience, only a willingness to be still and open. Whether you come from a faith tradition or none at all, this time of shared stillness offers a gentle space to return to yourself, to what’s most real, and to the Love that is always here.
