Sometimes after someone hears that I like to write, they say, “I’ve always wanted to read (or write) poetry, but I don’t know quite where to start.” Fortunately, it’s easy! At this event, I’ll be reading a few of the pieces through which I came to love poetry—after each, we’ll talk about what the poem does effectively and how, building out our set of interpretive questions and concepts in the process.
Whether you haven’t touched a poem since high school or you speak in iambic pentameter, come hang out and celebrate the beauty of language :)
