    In this Dharma talk Janne Kukka & Lindsay Sanwald explore both the Buddhist and Yogic teachings on the brahmaviharas. These four "divine abodes" or "sublime attitudes" are cultivated through meditation to promote positive and selfless states of mind. They are: Loving-Kindness (mettā), Compassion (karuṇā), Sympathetic Joy (muditā), and Equanimity (upekkhā). The practice aims to overcome negative emotions and foster social harmony, protect oneself and others, and support spiritual development.

    Janne Kukka is a Certified Meditation Teacher in the insight meditation tradition (Vipassana, Samatha, Metta) and a practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism.

    Lindsay Sanwald has been practicing Kriya meditation techniques (ISHTA lineage) for 20 years and sharing them with others for over a decade. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Harvard University and leads private students and small seminars on the poetics of spiritual experience.
