Join us for a visit to Wat Ram Poeng (Tapotaram), an ancient Buddhist temple.
Oftentimes, one of the biggest takeaways from Vipassana meditation retreats is realizing how rarely we practice mindful eating.
We’re always distracted—watching something, chatting with someone, or lost in thought while we eat—rarely if ever fully present with our food.
The plan for this excursion is to simply explore this temple, and practice mindful eating alongside monks and meditators.
Rough Schedule:
9:30 AM: Depart from Alt_Ping. We'll use scooters and/or Grab, and may arrange a red truck based on interest.
9:50 AM: Arrive at Wat Ram Poeng and explore the temple grounds.
10:30 AM: Participate in the 'Contemplation for Food' ceremony before enjoying a free meal with both non-vegetarian and vegetarian options.
After Lunch: Explore more, meditate, or chat with a monk
11:15 AM: Begin our journey back.
Additional Info:
Donations: While the meal is free and there is no entrance fee, the temple operates on donations. Please consider bringing some cash to contribute whatever you feel comfortable with.
Dress Code: Please wear modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees.
**An English-speaking monk will be available at the temple's Foreigners Office for brief conversations and to offer guidance.
