Throughout my time at Esmeralda I have been part of many conversations that attempted to create coherence about the trajectory of society. The most fruitful dialog has centered around two complementary ideas:
A looming coming crisis based on the analysis of Ray Dalio’s long term debt cycles, the 4th Turning, Overproduction of counter elites, etc.
An opportunity to reimagine society post crisis and the role that network societies can play in establishing resilience and leadership
I want to add fuel to these conversations through the following proposal.
The mission of the No Self Society is to advance the practice of selflessness among people who want to improve themselves in society.
The Sincere Citizen Syndicate would be nested inside of this larger mission and organization. But The Sincere Citizen Syndicate would have a distinct mission of its own. We can come up with a mission and a new name together. Here’s my initial proposal for a mission statement:
To foster a deeper understanding of the trajectory of Western society through historical analysis and storytelling, empowering individuals and communities to overcome challenges and thrive in the future.
Emphasize the connection between societal rot and personal decay
Prepare for potentially radical societal transformation through historical context with an emphasis on cyclical theories
Explore solutions on the societal level
It’s important to me to avoid talking in terms of politics. I believe that approach is largely an ineffective framework and too emotionally charged.
I am creating a cohort of energized individuals that collaborate to create blog posts, visual explanations and social media content
I will provide a budget to grow awareness and engagement on social media
I think there is a lot of potential to incorporate a wide range of views through the lens of the themes listed above
I would like to leverage AI as much as possible to advance our mission
